BACKGROUNDThe Women’s Safety at Night. Modern independent women are used to being alone. For example, women take the bus alone after work and then drive home. The night is the peak time for women to be attacked. We will use the power of community to make women safer on the streets at night alone.
APPROACHWWelcome is a community night-friendly women’s protection program. This project will combine the strength of the community with the store owners to protect the safety of women at night. The owner of the store can set up a safe area for women to wait when women feel endangered. They can wait there for the police or family members to pick them up. This opportunity brings the community together.
